Palladium nanoparticles are stabilized and encapsulated in a combination of polyurea and an ionic liquid (Aliquat 336) to obtain the PdAlqEn hybrid catalyst. The novel composite material is applied as a recyclable and robust catalyst in hydrogenation reactions.
