The “meta‐lens” is an advanced flat optical device that can be engineered to satisfy the demands of various optical systems; it can manipulate the phase, amplitude, and polarization of light. As summarized in the Review by Ting Xu, Din Ping Tsai and co‐workers (article number 2001414), attractive advantages of meta‐lenses are offered by their new properties, novel functions, light weight and small size, high efficiency, better performance, broadband operation, and lower energy consumption. Given the demand for photonics, the related breakthroughs are being quickly developed for imaging, sensing, polarization control, and high‐dimensional quantum application.
