The fabrication and characterization of a first organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) based on metal‐organic framework (MOF) are reported in article number 1701060 by Mario Gutierrez, Cristina Martin, Abderrazzak Douhal and co‐workers. The device uses an emissive layer of Zr‐based MOF formed by Zr‐oxide clusters and naphthalene linkers providing pores able to encapsulate fluorescent guests. The MOF‐LED emits in a wide spectral range thanks to the presence of defects in the MOF and the occurrence of energy transfer between the trapped fluorescent dyes and the MOF's linkers.
