In article number 1600993 , dynamically‐tunable plasmonic thermal emission is demonstrated by Jae‐Hwang Lee and co‐workers using periodic metallic microstructures that are fabricated by strain‐induced buckling on highly deformable substrates. Since the plasmonic thermal emitters exhibit spectrally narrowed and polarized thermal emission at the specific mid‐infrared wavelengths, modulated by applied strains. Mechanothermal sensors and dynamic thermal signature modulators are envisioned.
