An organic phototransistor with an ultrahigh gain of 1.1 × 10 7 is demonstrated, which employs a highly aligned dioctylbenzothienobenzothiophene (C8‐BTBT) polycrystalline film as the photoactive layer. This high photodetecting gain reaches the parity of photomultiplier tubes but with tens of times smaller driving voltage. This low noise detector has a noise equivalent power of 14 pW cm −2 .
