Large‐area triangular single crystals of WS 2 monolayer are synthesised from a chemical vapor deposition process and their optical properties are systematicly studied. This work paves the way to fabricate large‐area single crystalline 2D semiconductors and study their fundamentals. It must be very meaningful for exploiting the great potential of WS 2 for future optoelectronics.
