In article number 1700033 , Lidong Li, Shu Wang, and co‐workers successfully develop a multifunctional bioassay platform based on conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPs)–silver nanostructure pair for bacterial detection and killing. The CPs capture E. coli on the surface of the platform and produce a fluorescent signal in response to bacterial binding. This signal permits efficient bacterial detection. The system shows enhanced antimicrobial activity suggesting great promise for biodefense application.
