In article number 2100328, Maciej Rogala, Stanislaw Sokolowski, Robert Szoszkiewicz, and co‐workers investigate chemical origins of the MoO x species appearing on single MoS 2 flakes due to their oxidation in dry and humid air. MoO x species on the oxidatively etched MoS 2 surface are shown to originate from loosely surface‐bound (MoO 3 ) n (n > 0) single clusters with an average height of 0.32 ± 0.05 nm. Their presence has been confirmed topographically and chemically via combined AFM, XPS, and XAS studies.
