The surface index of copper can be obtained by monitoring its color evolution with time during mild heating in air. The color evolution manner is a fingerprint for each surface index, which is determined by the surface index dependent oxidization barrier. This is reported by Zhibin Zhang, Kaihui Liu, and co‐workers in article number 1800377 .
