Na 2 SO 4 layers were deposited successfully on the surface of Ni‐rich layered Li(Ni x Co y Mn z )O 2 (S‐NCM8) by coating with sodium dodecyl sulfate followed by calcination. The coating layers improves the conductivity and reduces the resistance significantly of S‐NCM8. As a result enhanced electrochemical properties of S‐NCM8 are obtained which makes them suitable for use as a cathode in lithium‐ion batteries.
