Successful use of optical waveguides is rare for a true remote sensing of biological objects. In article number 2005238, Dong Hyuk Park, Dong June Ahn, and co‐workers report a waveguide hybrid‐crystal of an organic semiconductor interfaced with nucleic acid molecules fabricated through a facile self‐assembly method. This bio‐hybrid 1D crystal responds to the extent of DNA–DNA interactions, and can discern, at the same time, a complementary target sequence at one end against a 1‐mer mismatched case at the other end.
