Sustainable energy generation from water and sunlight promises to solve current energy and environmental challenges. Recent progress of carbon‐based metal‐free catalysts (C‐MFCs) has led to various earth‐abundant highly efficient C‐MFCs for many reactions (e.g., the oxygen reduction reaction and hydrogen and oxygen evolution reations). This provides a plausible approach toward renewable generation of clean electricity from sunlight and water as power sources for automobiles, buildings, and other electrically‐powered appliances.
