It is generally acknowledged that the breaking of inversion symmetry is essential for the existence of an anomalous photovoltaic (APV) effect. In article number 1801619 , Yongxiang Li, Zhiguo Yi, and co‐workers report the discovery of an APV effect in a centrosymmetric vanadate, where noticeable above‐bandgap photovoltage and steady‐state photocurrent are observed even when illuminated under visible light.
