Self‐organized formation and self‐propelled growth of complex hierarchical multicomponent metamaterials are reviewed by Igor Levchenko and co‐workers in article number 1702226 . A special stress is placed on self‐assembly driven by highly energetic effects, which enable self‐directed formation of metamaterials with unique properties and structures. The role of plasma in self‐assembly is specifically addressed.
