Beihang University has achieved great progress in superwettability systems inspired by natural biological surfaces. The four intrinsic states of superwettability systems are hydrophilicity, oleophilicity, hydrophobicity, and oleophobicity. Combining these states in air, water, and oil with micro‐ or nanoscale roughness can generate 64 wetting states, through the Chinese philosophy of Yin‐Yang theory.
