In article no. 1606301 , different approaches for integrating spermatozoa as functional components of microrobotic devices are discussed by Veronika Magdanz, Mariana Medina‐Sánchez, and co‐workers in article number 1606301 . Different ways for remote‐controlled guidance of single spermatozoa include rolled‐up nanomembranes, which can unfold and release the cell, magnetic helixes, and microtubes, which can be used to transport or guide single sperm cells to target locations, such as an oocyte surrounded by cumulus cells.
