Nature's art of manifesting hierarchical superstructures is always an unchallenged school of inspiration. In article number 1606671 by Wei Hu, Li‐Feng Chi, Yan‐Qing Lu, and co‐workers, various smectic focal conic domains, featured by layered structures with well‐controlled sizes, shapes, and orientations, as well as clustering characteristics, are presented. An intriguing metasurface‐like polarization‐dependent diffraction is also reflected. This work may make a big splash in advanced functional materials and device applications.
