The tumor microenvironment in the brain is complex, varying in space and time. On page 1567, B. A. Harley and co‐workers report the use of microfluidic forming tools to generate optically translucent hydrogels that contain overlapping gradients of cell, matrix, and bio‐molecular cues inspired by the tumor microenvironment. The inside back cover depicts the use of this platform to monitor the malignant phenotype of glioblastoma multi‐form cells, the most common, aggressive, and deadly form of brain cancer.
