A nonprecious metal electrocatalyst based on fluorine‐doped tantalum carbide with an oxidative surface on graphitized carbon (TaC x F y O z / g C) is developed by using a simple one‐pot in situ ion exchange and adsorption method, and the TaC x F y O z / g C shows superior performance and durability for methanol oxidation reaction and extreme tolerance to CO poisoning in acidic media.
