A new generation of photothermal theranostic agent s based on assembling 6 nm gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is developed by using a novel comb‐like amphipathic polymer as the template. The small AuNPs are assembled into DOX@gold nanomicelles, which show strong absorbance in the near‐infrared region, for multimodal bioimaging and highly effective in vivo chemotherapy and photothermal therapy.
