A wide‐wavelength tunable laser is demonstrated on a single non‐doped CdSe nanowire (NW) by gradually cutting the NW shorter, without changing other experimental conditions such as pumping intensity and position. The corresponding mechanism for the large wavelength shifts is determined as the absorption–emission–absorption process in polar CdSe NWs. This new efficient method has prospective applications ranging from optical telecommunications to environmental monitoring.
