A new approach to generate and manage white light from an organic light emitting diode is shown. It consists in the coupling of two microcavity resonators made of only metallic and organic layers, whose operation principle is analogous to that of two mechanical harmonic oscillators coupled by a spring (see figure). This approach allows the solution of key open points in the field of plastic white light sources.
