Cu 2 O‐ZnO nanowire solar cells are synthesized by electrodeposition from solutions near room temperature. A high‐quality, self‐assembling, nanostructured heterojunction is produced, which is found to dramatically improve the charge collection efficiency in these ultra‐low‐cost devices. Incident‐photon‐to‐electron conversion efficiencies approaching unity are measured and considerable efficiency improvements are observed.
