Functional hollow CS–PAA–Au‐hybrid nanospheres are prepared in aqueous solution via a one‐pot route. These hollow hybrid nanospheres can not only act as drug carriers for intracellular and intranuclear drug delivery, but also act as a contrast agent in cancer‐cell imaging, and light up the nucleus. This results in a nanosphere that can execute tumor‐cell imaging and anticancer drug delivery at the same time.
