A biocompatible, biodegradable, bactericidal, chemically erasable membrane with multiple responsive functions has been synthesized. Permeability, adhesive, and mechanical properties of the membrane can be regulated by the pH and ionic strength of the surrounding aqueous solutions. In addition, the membrane can store nanoparticles and enzymes.
