Porous ZnO nanoplates are synthesized using a simple microwave method. Interestingly, a gas sensor fabricated using these nanoplates responds strongly to both chlorobenzene and ethanol at differing operating temperatures. This novel gas sensor is a multifunctional and promising sensor for practical applications.
