A five‐layer fishnet magnetic metamaterial with the definition of artificial ‘magnetic atoms’ is highlighted. The solid black circle represents the circular current excited between a double‐wire pair. The red arrows in the figure denote the magnetic moments associated with the ‘magnetic atoms’. The coupling between these ‘magnetic atoms’ leads to the concept of plasmonic building blocks for magnetic molecules in 3D optical metamaterials.
