A simple multiferroic composite with a single period of 1‐3‐type structure , consisting of one Pb(Zr,Ti)O 3 (PZT) rod embedded in a Terfenol‐D/epoxy mixture, is reported. The coupling interaction between this PZT rod and the surrounding mixture produces a giant magnetoelectric response (see figure) of ca. 500 mV cm –1  Oe below 40 kHz and over 18 V cm –1  Oe at resonance frequency.
