Ternary liquids containing approximately 50% Te are studied using neuron scattering. The local environment is quantified, based on the analysis of the total scattering function. In these tellurium‐based alloys, a tetrahedral local order dominates for liquids with average number of valence electrons between 4.0 and 4.25, while a transition to octahedral ordering is induced for larger numbers of valence electrons.
