We demonstrate a new, flexible, one‐step approach to direct the synthesis of FePt nanoparticle clusters or Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles, and their assembly into molecularly interconnected chains without the use of inorganic templates. The chain length as well as the diameter of the nanoparticle cluster can be varied by modifying the surfactants‐precursor ratio.
