Efficient lasing is demonstrated from a clear dispersion of silane‐modifed Nd 2 O 3 nanoparticles in dimethylsulfoxide. Surface modification with the silane helps to disperse the nanoparticles, as indicated in the figure. The fluorescence lifetime and quantum yield of the dispersed nanoparticles are amongst the highest obtained for a Nd III emitting center dispersed in an organic medium.
