Multifunctional surfaces presenting two different biological ligands in controllable ratios are prepared via chemical vapor deposition copolymerization. These polymer coatings are designed so that different functionalities can be orthogonally introduced (see figure and cover), making them attractive for a wide range of biomedical devices such as microanalytical or diagnostic systems.
