Uniaxially aligned CoFe 2 O 4 nanorods (see Figure) are obtained by coprecipitation of Co 2+ , Fe 2+ , and C 2 O 4 2– ions in a microemulsion solution, and subsequent high‐temperature decomposition of CoFe 2 (C 2 O 4 ) 3 . Each nanorod is made up of a “tectonic” assembly of CoFe 2 O 4 nanocrystals. Magnetization of such CoFe 2 O 4 materials may lead to their use in high‐density magnetic recording media and high‐performance electromagnetic and spintronic devices.
