A Zn‐containing perovskite structure of composition Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Zn 0.2 Fe 0.8 O 3–δ is proposed as an oxygen‐transport material with good phase stability at low oxygen partial pressures at temperatures up to 950 °C. The material has been successfully tested in a membrane reactor in the partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas (see Figure).
