Photovoltaic (PV) power generation can surely be considered a critical technol‐ ogy for overcoming global environmental problems and energy problems. This essay will review the current status and application technologies of PV power gene‐ ration, concluding with a discussion of the prospects of a future global‐scale energy supply system based on PV power generation.
