The combination of thin‐film and ferroelectric‐elastomeric properties —of interest for piezoelectric and nonlinear optical applications—is the aim in preparing freely‐suspended (FS) films from polymeric liquid‐crystal elastomers with SmC* phases. The preparation and characterization of such films from crosslinkable SmC* polymers is reported for the first time, together with their photo‐crosslinking and an investigation of the stabilization effect of the crosslinking.
