Superconductivity in quasi‐1‐dimensional organic conductors is shown not to be confined to the selenium‐containing (TMTSF) 2 X series (TMTSF = tetramethyltetraselenafulvalene). The title compound is shown to exhibit superconductivity in the 1 K range provided the spin density wave ground state is suppressed by the application of pressure, leading to conclusions about the origin of pairing strength in organic conductors.
