Chiral liquid‐crystalline phases are of great interest due to their nonlinear optical and ferroelectric properties. Side‐chain FLCPs (ferroelectric liquid crystal polymers) are known but no main chain FLCPs have been reported, only a limited number of FLC dimers which are used as models for the main chain compounds being known. Here, a new dimer is presented (see figure) which exhibits a high spontaneous polarization.
