A fusible, soluble sexithiopphene is reeported and it is shown that this material can be electropolymerized to form thin polymeric layers which exhibit well‐defined redox behavior and high contrast electrochromism. This is an important step towards increasing the conjugation lenght in these materials, efforts which had previously been hampered by the insoluble nature of oligomers with six or more thiophene units.
