Talking point : In our September issue, Rustum Roy and John Maddox provided two different points of view concerning a research paper published in Nature. The author of that paper, which is concerned with the synthesis of inorganic/organic composites in which the inorganic crystals display controlled size, shape, and orientation, now presents her opinion, explaining the aims and background to the work, and addressing the criticism levelled both at her work and the field.
