Communication: The first example of a discotic thallium (I) metallomesogen is reported. The complex is formed by the association of two half‐disc‐shaped molecules (see figure) and the properties of the liquid crystalline material studied using DSC and X‐ray differaction. The materials, with varying numbers of alkyl groups bonded to the central aromatic cores, are also compared with the previously known copper analogues.
