Communication: Resonant tunneling quantum dot transistors or high‐gain heterojunction multiple quantum dot laser arrays are two potential applications of the title compounds. The new materials are composed of periodic arrays of all‐space filling β‐cages containing atomically precise, organized assemblies of single‐size and shape M 4 X clusters, (see figure).
