The high conductivities of the iodine‐doped title compound (see figure) and its germanium analogue have attracted considerable interest. Structural analysis by X‐ ray crystallography has not been possible, and solid state 13C NMR has yielded complex spectra which are often difficult to assign. I5N CPMAS NMR spectroscopy of I5N enriched samples provides a powerful ity of these species. tool for the study of the structure and reactivity of these species.
