Biomaterials Highlights III . In the third article of the series, the methods which are used to fix implants to the body's tissue are examined, which include cementing and mechanical fixation. The surfaces of the implants play an important role in interactions with the body. Various coatings are described and the application of isoelastic implants discussed.
