To reduce cardiovascular mortality, early diagnosis and effective treatments are needed. Cédric Chauvierre and co‐workers demonstrate the functionalization with fucoidan of polymer microcapsules on the surface to specifically target P‐selectin overexpressed at initial stages of vascular diseases in article number 1601200. The organic core of microcapsules provides a loading space for imaging probes and/or for hydrophobic drugs. This innovative microstructure appears to be a promising theranostic tool for cardiovascular diseases.
