A much simpler device‐manufacturing and operation process for lateral flow assays is described by Belinda Pingguan‐Murphy, Feng Xu, and co‐workers in article 1600920. Incorporation of agarose hydrogel into the glass fiber shunt achieves optimum fluidic delays for sensitive detection of dengue virus without altering the geometry of pads or creating hydrophobic barriers.
