2D Growth Mechanisms In article number 2106450, Dnyaneshwar S. Gavhane, Marijn A. van Huis, and Atul D. Sontakke visualize the growth of 2D WS 2 in real time and at atomic resolution via in situ transmission electron microscopy. Growth of either vertical or horizontal layers dependent on precursor thickness is observed. Covering substrates beforehand with platinum or gold enhances the growth with elongated vertical layers and horizontal twisted bilayers of WS 2 .
