In article number 1807105 , Fiorenzo Vetrone and co‐workers propose a new direction in terms of decoupling diagnostic and therapeutic modalities integrated within rare‐earth doped nanoparticles. These nanoparticles display an excitation wavelength‐dependent photoluminescence, enabling selective access to their diagnostic or therapeutic functions. This work constitutes an important step in the development of safe and advanced theranostic agents of the future.
