The progress of School of Chemistry at Beihang University on bioinspired functional and lightweight, high‐strength nanocomposites is presented. Inspired by the layered structure of nacre, lots of high‐performance nanocomposites can be fabricated based on graphene, nanoclay, carbon nanotubes, etc. The background also illustrates the technique of ice‐templating for mimicking the layered structure of nacre. In addition, the application of functional nanocomposites in flexible films toward wearable energy devices is shown.
