The first examples of bio‐inspired white hybrid light‐emitting diodes (Bio‐WHLED) with a micropatterned rubber‐like down‐converting coating were realized using a 3D printing technique. As presented by A. R. Boccaccini, R. D. Costa, and co‐workers on page 1601792, both the mechanical properties of the rubber matrix and the excellent luminescent features of the proteins lead to devices with enhanced luminous efficiency and color quality.
